tumult |ˈt(y)oōˌməlt| noun [usu. in sing. ]
a loud, confused noise, esp. one caused by a large mass of people
In the past handful of weeks, I find myself being a lot more outgoing than I had been for the year thus far. Nico of 2010 would have turned down many of these opportunities with a simple "I'm staying in, I have work to do." That's still a relevant and viable response to an extent, but there's some sort of undiscovered extroversion I'm experiencing lately.
My point is that I'm rediscovering my inner-networker again. I would highly recommend that anyone reading this do the same.
Listing these events here, before I forget (thanks, blog):
- I caught a friend's band who brought together a group of old colleagues for drinks, tunes, and lolz. We all promised to catch drinks again. I can't wait.
- I made friends with a bartendress at a movie theater whose name, incidentally, is Niko. How often does that happen? A: Seldom.
- I caught up with an old friend who had a long stint in Thailand for the sole purpose of adventure, and when adventure was what he got, he couldn't even tell me the story over a cigarette. Some shit went down, yo. I haven't heard the whole tale yet.
- Saw some good art shows. Nope, I don't remember where I saved the pictures. Wait, here's one:
Saw off a soldier friend of mine before he was shipped off to Florida and then deployed. Man, I hope that kid will be okay.- Had an adventure in Downtown LA in the rain involving cheering for David Bowie's crotch in a drinking game based on Labyrinth, making new friends on the roof of the movie theater, explaining how I am not programmed to booty dance, stumbling into the bar I used to work at and catching a good drum'n'bass night, dancing with a girl who was apparently trying to get my attention but I had no idea was there because I apparently whip my hair back and forth, and instead of hitting up a diner to soak up alcohol, my friends and I got ramen and tempura.
