Local Bands

Yep, local bands. You might know someone in one. It's likely that if you live in an area where things like guitars and drum kits and pianos are somewhat accessible, you at least know a local musician. You might be one.

Chances are, if you're reading this, you know me or at least you get the general idea. Maybe. Do strangers read this? Hi? I'm in a local band.

But wait, you correct me, your band is only local to your geographic location. After all, "local" is an adjective that is defined as belonging or relating to a particular area or neighborhood, typically exclusively so. (Oxford American Dictionary)

But wait, I retort, what if we consider the small communities on the internet neighborhoods? After all, they're already described as communities.

I've said it before, but I have made (pretty fucking awesome, mind you) friends with people on the internet through some communities. So, if these people are my friends, who I met by being part of communities, are they my neighbors, and therefore, local?

If you know me, and chances are you do, does that mean you know someone in a local band?

I love local Philly bands, especially supporting them. I suppose a local band, although specific to a region could be local to everyone thanks to the Internet.

Are you looking for new bands to listen to?

As per usual, I love the online/offline connections you make to community. Yes, I know someone in a local band. Lots and lots of local bands, then - by your standards :)

i know several people in local bands. unfortunately, i'm a lameface friend and don't go to their shows. though... i can't really say that we're FRIENDS. i just know who they are. and that makes me feel less like a total jerkface douchebag.

Um, I think my brain hurts.

I had some friends in local bands (local as in geographically in my city)... I greatly adore local bands. They're more genuine. And they're willing to play the songs you like. And sometimes they will talk to you during their smaller shows and make you feel bad-ass.

BUT, to answer the question I think you were asking, I guess the answer is yes? Because I sort of know you and, thus, yadda yadda yadda. Look, I'm cultured and "in" with a guy in a band in a different city. YAY I'M COOL AGAIN.
