Okay then!
First, I should draw attention to the fact that there was a bit of a redesign on this site (only graphically) to commemorate my switch from WordPress to WordPress MU. Why did I do that? First, the switch is for research and development purposes, but also I can use it to consolidate different site ideas I’ve got, and to manage those ideas from one dashboard. In other words: to learn something and also to facilitate dicking around.
I won’t get too much into the projects now because if you’re reading this, you’ll probably hear about it anyway.
Now, onward to more present matters:
It seems that according to all of the comments on the last post, I should make a video. Really? Ok, I’ll get to that, then. In the erstwhile I’d like to knock out a couple of the following before I forget:
- Pics of new apartment!
- More stories of weird crap that’s been happening lately
- Some neat projects I’m working on, and thoughts on those
- Shameless promotion of my friends’ music (and mine, too)
- Maybe another video blog?
Stories: Seeing as how a lot of events have long transpired since I got busy at work, the recap montage is thus:
- Discovered that I moved into an apartment in a big, red, house that was built in 1907, apparently once used as a motel back in the days of cowboys. Yeehaw.
- Setting up shop in my room to work endless hours, effectively making my room an office that happens to have a bed in it. Becoming a zombie in the process.
- Work in the career is starting to show signs of a more “sane” workload, so I’m excited to finally set down to work on some overdue freelance obligations, who all seem to incidentally be in the creative fields. In the sticky notes I have on my desk, I can already see that have some immediate work for:
- A screenwriter
- A mixed media artist
- A children’s book
- A local band
- Extracurricular activities:
- Threw a house party nearly every weekend since we moved in, and we’ve only been here for about a month. My liver believes I am his sworn enemy.
- VIDEO GAMES! Oh, how I have missed these! Been playing lots of Left4Dead and I am stoked for the sequel, and a game my roommate bought, Call of Juarez 2. Apparently, zombies and cowboys have been running themes in this house lately.
- Been going to a number of shows lately, mainly supporting two friends who are close in the figurative and literal sense. In fact, tonight I will attempt to see two different shows for Tek Support in downtown LA and Zaptra in Hollywood. I hope nothing goes wrong. And I hope I didn’t just jinx myself. I really don’t like the bar scene in Hollywood. I drive around in gridlocked traffic to pay money to park my car, to get out and stand in line, to pay money to get into a venue, to drink expensive drinks alone because everyone seems to be afraid of strangers. Why is it that Hollywood is the only neighborhood in LA that does this? I guess going to Hollywood for a show is jinxing myself to begin with.
- Been working with my roommate on this project (stoked on this!).
- My roommate and I also have been slowly putting together a disaster preparedness kit, and I’m surprised I hadn’t owned one before. Frankly, everyone should own one. However, ours seems to be more focused on surviving the zombie apocalypse than it is focused on surviving natural disasters. Regardless, when we find things we can put in it, we aptly call it the “OH SHIT!” box.
- Been back in the swing of regular rehearsals and songwriting. Ahhh, that feels good to say.
Alrighty, I think I covered all of the important stuff. Note that “important stuff” here refers to things I myself would like to remember since my memory is worse than something-with-really-bad-memory.
I think we’re done with lists for the time being. What a relief! I miss writing in journal form.
Video coming soon.

I want to check out your new pad
eep! i love the new look!
the other stuff? well i knew most of that already :)
“ours seems to be more focused on surviving the zombie apocalypse than it is focused on surviving natural disasters”
haha. that sounds about right.
Thanks for updating man! It's always good to hear what you're up to.
I'm liking the look of the new site, specifically the Disqus integration. I use it on Mashable all the time, need to get around to integrating it on my site though I doubt Blogspot can use it.
Good luck with your work!
The fact that you can work on wordpress and know your way around it totally impress me. I always wanna switch but it's too difficult ( for me ).
