So the year ends. What of my goals from last New Year’s have I accomplished?
- Gave up cigarettes
- Gave up caffeine
- Lost weight
- Found true love
- Learned a new programming language
- Released an album
- Read more books
…Okay, well that’s not so bad. It is 0/6, but check out what I’ve done inadvertently:
- Moved, three times
- Met new people, made new friends
- Vacationed in Brooklyn
- Met some amazing writers via teh intarwebz
- Got a new job
- Re-learned how to sing
- Started a new band
- Staffed a booking company
- Read more blogs
That last one has actually been a significant part of my life for the past year, and I have everyone in my FeedReader to thank for it.
So ’09′s resolution? To give back to the awesomeness of the internet. Somehow. To figure out how to give back. And to do it often.
Why? Because the internet is the digital manifestation of a collective imagination, and it’s thanks to everyone I’ve been reading that I still have an imagination, that I have not been crushed by corporate life, and that I remain a dreamer — and dreaming, especially dreaming big, is very important to me.
So thank you, webtubes.
I’ll work on paying you back in full starting tomorrow.
As far as year-end recaps go, here’s my favorite:

I love the interwebz. :)
Happy new year!! :)
yeah, i love blog reader… makes keeping up with everyone so much easier
That year end recap was AWESOME. I think my favorite part was the grandfather’s wishing the world a safe place while fondling his grandchild. Major eww, but very well timed comedy in the video. DAYUM.
All things considered, I’d say it was a pretty good year. Hope 2009 is even better!
hope january is very uneventful for you, haha. but happy new year!
